This profile consists of an aluminum channel and the choice of insert material for the tread and riser allows for a stronger contrasting solid band of color. With a specification to meet the guidance in Approved Document M and BS8300:2009+A1:2010 it is ideal for use where no surface floorcoverings are used or resilient flooring. In choosing the insert colour(s) then reference should be made to the respective Light Reflective Value of the surrounding floorcovering and also of the stair nosing itself, the difference in these values should be greater than a factor of 30. The profile is supplied Mill finish as standard, other anodised and powder coated options can be made available. External grade Insert. Tredsafe insert is manufactured from a special blend of P.V.C., silica quartz and polymeric plasticiser giving an homogeneous hard wearing anti-slip flooring for wet and dry conditions. The three-dimensional pyramid pattern offers excellent slip resistance whether conditions are wet or dry.

Installation.

• The steps should be dry, clean, free of debris, level, and even.
• If there are pre-drilled holes, make use of these to mark where to drill.
• Steps outline repeat which ‘drill’ and ‘plug’ in order.
• Put the appropriate glue on the bottom part of the nosing and put it on the step.
• Use screws that fit well to screw down the step.
• Apply an insert (if separate) or insert pip to cover the screw head.
