Apart from protecting the edges of steps, the range offers an easy and energy efficient solution to illuminate steps. In the event of a local and/or emergency power failure on stairways, which increases the level of hazard for evacuees, a system allows the evacuee to orientate, locate stair edges and risers, and to assist in the safe egress from the building. The system operates without any electrical connection. Furthermore, it is simple to install, and doesn’t need any special maintenance except the sort of maintenance you would normally carry out on any similar product. It can easily be activated by regular illumination; daylight, fluorescent or standard tungsten filaments. Silicone carbide is an extremely durable and slip-resistant material suitable for external use. This commercial or domestic product is especially suited for areas where public safety is a priority.

The varied range can be used on a wide variety of substrates including, concrete, timber, tiles, vinyl, steel and checker plate with insert available in a wide variety of colours to promote visibility and compliment the aesthetics.

Setup.

• Confirm that the steps are dry and clean and free from debris.
• If pre-drilled holes are there then use those holes to mark steps for drilling location.
• Steps to drill and plug.
• Put an appropriate adhesive on the bottom of the nosing and apply the nosing to the stair.
• Use suitably sized bolts to install the step.
• Apply a plug (if separate) or insert a pip to cover the screw head.
