Description
Heavy Duty Yellow Non Slip Stair Tread Cover for Stairs
Prepare your site properly and hire competent tradesmen to install Stop Slip GRP Products. Make sure you have a 3M dust mask (or similar), safety goggles, heavy duty gloves and overalls. Cut in a well ventilated area or close to extraction points. The standard rubbish bin can be used to dispose of dust residue.
Preparation
Prior to installing the cover, the site must be clean and dry, and free from loose and defective material. If any areas become pitted or damaged, they should be repaired locally to create a flat surface. Test how well the stair tread, landing cover, flat sheet or nosing fit. They should be comfortable and sit flat to the surface. If localized trimming is necessary, we recommend a jigsaw fitted with a tungsten carbide blade (e.g. Bosch T141 HM) or a diamond cutting disc fitted to an angle grinder.
Stair covers, landing covers, flat sheets and nosing can be supplied with fixing points, pre-drilled and counter-sunk before despatch (at an additional charge). Precise dimensions must be provided when placing the order.
Drill holes to locate fixing in all panels. Although individual situations may differ, this should be used as a guide only.
Stair Tread Covers
Make two holes on both sides of the Stop Slip Stair Tread. A good tip to remember is to use the first drilled tread cover as a template, so that the rest of the panels can be drilled the same.
Fitting the Panels
Although using mechanical fixings is enough to secure our Stop Slip GRP anti slip products, we recommend the application of a suitable high strength gap filling adhesive (PU230 or similar). This will offer the following benefits.
