Description
Black Non Slip Stair Tread Covers for Indoor & Outdoor Stairways
When fitting Stop Slip GRP products, at a minimum, always wear the following PPE: You will need a dust mask, safety goggles, heavy-duty gloves, and coveralls to work safely. They must be sliced in a well-ventilated area or close to extraction points. You can dispose of dust residue using regular waste disposal methods.
Preparation
Prior to fitting, ensure all areas are clean, dry and free from all loose and defective material. Locally repair any areas that are pitted or damaged to achieve a flat and level surface. Check the stair tread, landing cover, flat sheet, or nosing for proper fit and flatness before installation. Roughly one in ten stairs and landings will not be acceptable. For any localized trimming, we suggest using a Jigsaw, preferably with a tungsten carbide blade type Bosch T141 HM or similar. Alternatively, a diamond cutting disc with an angle grinder may be used.
Samples, stair tread cover, landing cover, flat sheet and nosing can be cut to the dimensions you require, with fixing points pre-drilled and counter-sunk prior to dispatch (additional cost). Provide exact measurements at time of order.
The fixing locating holes should be drilled in all panels. Although individual circumstances will differ, this should be used as a guide only.
Stair Tread Covers
Make two holes on each side of the Stop Slip Stair Tread. Do the same for the right-hand side of the treads. A useful hint: To ensure all shapes match, use the first drilled tread cover as a template for drilling the other panels.
Fitting the Panels
Although only mechanical fixings are needed to secure Stop Slip GRP anti slip products, we do recommend the application of a high strength gap filling adhesive (PU230 or similar). This will provide the following benefits.
